tiny line in my plan
small crack in the vision
didn't count on losing ground
...because of a fissure.
broke my stride for a minute
took longer than I thought
to regroup;
didn't count on failing my mission
...because of a fissure.
stuck my heart like a knife
took my mind off the goal
brought tears to my eyes
...and all because of a fissure.
dictionary defines it as
a narrow opening,
due to separations of parts
like the brokeness I feel inside my soul
breaking my heart, and
...all because of a fissure.
need to mend the tear
move on with the purpose
let go of the pain and
choose to see hope,
to see light,
to not lose all I have gained
... just because of a fissure.
